Fitting a strut headboard to your base

Installing a strut-mounted headboard is a simple DIY job. Follow these 3 quick steps to secure your headboard neatly and perfectly behind your bed.Here a few quick tips before you get started:

  • For heavier headboards, ask someone to hold it steady while you tighten the bolts.

  • Don’t over-tighten, it needs to be just enough to keep the headboard secure.

  • Adjust the height before final tightening to get your preferred position above the mattress

What’s Included

                • Headboard pre-fitted with two wooden struts
                • Fixing bolts or screws

What You’ll Need

                • Screw driver
                • Tape measure
                • Pencil

1. Locate the headboard slots

Look at the top of your divan base, you’ll find two small holes or slots designed for the headboard struts.
If these are covered by fabric, feel for them and carefully pierce the material to reveal the fixing holes.

2. Position and Adjust

Slide the wooden struts on the headboard into the holes on your divan base.
Adjust the height so the headboard sits comfortably just above your mattress.
You can make small adjustments later once everything is tightened.

3. Secure & Tighten

Insert the fixing bolts through the slots on the struts and into the holes in the bed base.
Tighten them evenly using a screwdriver, just enough to hold the headboard firmly in place.
Once secure, step back to ensure the headboard is straight and level, then you are all done!
