A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Our Exclusive Wool Collaboration

We’ve been counting down the days to this one. Our latest collaboration is here, and it’s something truly special. We’ve teamed up with Linwood to create a limited edition collection of headboards and beds, crafted using 100% British Romney Wool. Two family-run businesses, a shared love for craftsmanship, and one exceptional fabric—this is British design at its best.

But this isn’t just about the end product. It’s about the journey. So, come with us behind the scenes, from the rolling fields of Romney Marsh to the mills of Yorkshire and Lancashire, and finally to our workshop, where each bed is carefully handcrafted. Here’s how we brought this collection to life.

Step 1: The Source – British Romney Wool

It all starts in the fields, where Romney Marsh sheep graze on the lush British countryside. Their wool is known for its softness, durability, and natural eco-friendly properties. It’s also one of Britain’s most prized fibers, with a rich heritage stretching back centuries. We chose this wool for a reason, its luxurious texture and resilience make it the perfect choice for upholstered furniture.

Step 2: Grading and Scouring – The First Transformation

Once sheared, the wool heads to British Wool HQ, where it’s graded by expert hands. Every fleece is meticulously sorted to ensure only the highest quality fibres make the cut. Next, it’s time for scouring—this is where the wool is gently cleaned to remove natural oils and impurities, leaving behind pure, soft fibres ready for dyeing and spinning.

Step 3: Dyeing and Spinning – Bringing Colour to Life

One of the most exciting steps in the process is dyeing. Romney Wool takes dye beautifully, absorbing rich, deep hues that make this collection stand out. Whether you prefer earthy neutrals or bold statement tones, the colours in this range are something special. Once dyed, the wool is spun into fine yarn, ready to be woven into fabric. The really exciting bit for us, is that this all happens here in Yorkshire, just a stones throw from our factory.

Step 4: Weaving and Finishing – Craftsmanship at Its Finest

The spun wool is transported to  some of the UK’s finest weavers and finishers bring the fabric to life. Using traditional looms, the yarn is woven into upholstery fabric with a luxurious yet durable finish. The result? A textile that’s soft, strong, and perfect for our limited edition collection.

Step 5: Upholstering – The Final Touch

Now for the part we know best. The finished fabric arrives at our factory just down the road (how’s that for carbon saving!), where our team meticulously upholsters each bed and headboard by hand. Every detail is carefully considered, and the extra flourish for this collection is the contrasting side panel. Giving you the chance to really make the most of this bold colour range. The result? A bed that’s as stylish as it is comfortable, and one that truly stands the test of time.
