Revolutionising In-bed Dining

Meet The NAP-kin: a bed-sized bib made for lovers of in-bed dining.
This Valentine’s Day, staying in is the new going out. As more couples ditch the reservations and opt for cosy nights in, this practical (and delightfully odd) creation keeps crumbs and spills at bay!

Eating in bed

The Odd Company x Nell’s Pizza

Think beds are just for sleeping? Think again. Brits have uncovered their beds’ second calling: dining hotspots. Whether it’s pizza, pasta, cereal or soup they are all making their way into the boudoir!

You might be concerned about the crumbs, spills, and general mess. Don’t worry, that’s where we come in. At The Odd Company, we love doing things differently, so we’ve teamed up with Nell’s Pizza to create The NAP-kin—a giant, bed-sized napkin designed to make in-bed dining downright nappetising. The best bit? It’s completely free.

A Valentine’s Exclusive : Tuck into your dinner whilst tucked up in bed

This Valentine’s Day, you and your partner can enjoy an iconic Nell’s pizza while staying safe from spills and crumbs under The NAP-kin— a giant, bed-spread-style luxury bib designed for lovers and made to keep your bedding safe. It’s practical, luxurious, and just the right amount of quirky to revolutionise your duvet dining game.

What do the British public think about eating in bed
Lovers or Haters?

We know eating in bed divides opinions. So, we asked 500 Brits to spill the (crumb-free) tea on their habits to find that:

  • 39% are all-in on duvet dining—14% even say they “love” it.
  • 41% hate the idea and won’t allow so much as a biscuit in bed.
  • 1 in 10 eats in bed daily, while a quarter indulge weekly.
  • 80% agree crumbs in bed are the ultimate turn-off (a.k.a. the “ick”).

Eating in bed is a hotly debated topic in Britain, especially as the demand for bed-friendly dining solutions is starting to boom. We recently uncovered that ‘mini fridge in bedroom’ is up 1,250% in searches in the last 12 months and ‘mini fridge for bedroom’ racks up a staggering 486,000 Google searches a year.

When do people eat in bed?

We asked Brits the occasions in which they eat in bed, to find that:

  • 77% eat in bed when they are unwell.
  • 30% eat in bed on holiday or when staying in a hotel.
  • 23% eat in bed when they’re too tired to sit at the table.
  • 23% eat in bed on special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, or Valentine’s Day.
  • 19% eat in bed when the weather is bad and/or when they’re cold.

With crumbs being the biggest dealbreaker, The NAP-kin is the hero every bed-dining lover needs.

How do I get a NAP-kin?

This Valentine’s Day, we’re not just protecting beds from stains and crumbs—we’re saving relationships from the ick. With the NAP-kin you and your partner can enjoy an iconic Nell’s pizza in bed carefree and crumb-free. This bed-sized bib keeps your sheets safe from spills, so you can focus on the important stuff—each other (and pizza, of course).

Here’s how it works:
– Order from Nell’s Pizza from their Manchester store on Deliveroo from 12pm on Valentine’s Day (February 14th)
– The first 50 lucky customers will receive a free NAP-kin.
– Snap a pic with your NAP-kin, share it on Instagram, follow and tag @theodd.co + @nellspizza to enter. One lucky lover will win a £500 premium bedding bundle.

So go ahead—turn up the heat, light some candles, and dine in bed without fear. No crumbs, all love.
