A tidy room promotes better sleep
A new survey as revealed that by vacuuming your bedroom, washing your bed sheets or fluffing your pillows, will make you sleep better.
The study, by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), suggests that people fall asleep much quicker when their bedrooms are comfortable, dirt-free and tidy.
The “bedroom poll” surveyed 1,500 sound and poor sleepers in the US about how the bedroom environment affected their ability to get a good night’s sleep.
The findings show that senses like touch, feel and smell are important to the surveyed adults, aged between 25 and 55.
Seven out of 10 people said they made their bed every day or almost every day. Of these bed-makers, 19% were more likely to report getting a good night’s sleep on most days.
More importantly, nine out of 10 rated having a comfortable mattress and comfy pillows as important for getting a sound rest.
Overall, people reported sleeping longer hours and feeling better about going to bed when their bed was made, their sheets were fresh, and their bedroom was comfortable.
