Natalie Thomas is said to be so good at checking mattresses for comfort that she’s been given the job title Director of Bed Bouncing and has insured her bottom for a sum of £4 million!
She uses her prized asset to check that the beds at Premier Inn hotels across the country are comfortable enough for guests by ensuring that the beds don’t have either mattresses which are too hard or too soft mattresses!
Natalie, from Bedfordshire, spends about 20 minutes per bed checking for lumps, bumps and rips. An uncomfortable mattress is removed straight away and replaced with a brand new luxury mattress. She wears soft trousers so she can feel any lumps and bumps and takes good care of her bottom with regular moisturising sessions to ensure that she doesn’t miss any problems. Her and her team of bed bouncers test on average 884 beds a week, around 177 each and every day.
Speaking about her role, Natalie said: The quality of beds is hugely important and is something Premier Inn pride ourselves on. I absolutely love my job and really can’t imagine doing anything else now.
“I work with an excellent team of ‘bouncers’ and we work together to bounce on every part of the bed, before testing how comfortable it is to lie and sleep on.
“Whilst we have lots of fun bouncing on beds, we take our job very seriously as making sure every guest gets a good night’s sleep is of paramount importance to us all.”
We hope that Natalie doesn’t feel like she’s got a bum deal!
Hi there,
I work for a digital blogging team on a lifestyle blog called Calm Your Beans and I’m pulling resources together to write a blog for Premier Inn and their new Director of Bed Bouncing (mentioned in your article). I was wondering if I could ask you to link to Premier Inn’s homepage in your article so I can better use your piece?
I would be extremely grateful and will be sharing all these resources via social media to a growing calmyourbeans fan base. This would definately send traffic to your website and we would really appreciate it at our end. We’d also be looking to build a relationship with yourself for future collaborations and guest posts if you would like?
Please let me know if this is a possibility.
Thank you very much,
Jack Kelly
